Movement and Biomechanical Assessment

A movement and biomechanical assessment is an assessment of the movement patterns and mechanics of one’s body, especially of the forces exerted by muscles and gravity on the skeletal structure and how the nervous systems works with the muscles and bones of your body to cause movement. Your assessment will look at muscle, bones and nervous systems as individual systems and then evaluate how they work together as a system of systems to cause efficient movement. Once the assessment has discovered which system is not functioning properly or how one system is not interrelating with another system you will be advised in your proposal what MBS Holistic Training believes will be required for you to be taught / coached how to correct this malfunction so that your sport / work and or every day life activities become and remain pain free. Once we understand where you are starting from and where you want to be we can develope a Personal Training proposal designed to out line your path to your goals.  Your Personal Training proposal is an out line of what will need to be done in oder to achive your goals.  Your proposal out lines both your responsilities and MBS Holistic Training responsibilities and includes the associated  fees.  Once the fee is agreed on thats its it there are no other hidden costs to your  CHEK work. This process of teaching and coaching is typically done through a (series of) Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology Program(s).

Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology (CHEK) Program

A ‘Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology’(CHEK) program is a highly specialized program, individually tailored to your needs and objectives. The aim of the CHEK exercise program is to assist you to become pain free, move easily and be at least 30% stronger than you were pre-injury, this will provide many benefits to you including prevention of re-injury. Typically after your first work out you will begin to feel the benefits of this program.

A CHEK exercise program follows leading edge, scientifically based corrective exercise regimes for clients, built on a framework of thorough assessments and regular re-assessments. Every stretch, exercise, stress reduction technique, nutrition and lifestyle recommendation has a specific predetermined purpose to achieve a desired result. This method allows the CHEK exercise program to succeed were often other traditional methods fail.

The corrective exercise approach endorsed by CHEK practitioners is not designed to ‘treat’ your condition. Instead, through fully embracing a holistic approach to rehabilitation, the aim is to identify and treat the cause therefore minimising the risk of re-injury, and allowing you to experience living life to the fullest without pain and discomfort.

Your exercise program has been individually designed with a specific structure in mind and it is imperative that this program is followed in the order specified to experience the full benefits. It is expected that each program will need to be followed for at least 4-6 weeks. Following this timeframe it is recommended an appointment is booked for a further assessment of your progress and to re-evaluate your program.

Most clients will take 12-26 weeks to achieve the objective of optimum wellbeing if they follow and commit to the programs’ recommendations. Depending on the nature of your injury, your skill level and your time constraints it may take 2-4 ‘exercise program rotations’ (12-26 weeks) to fully strengthen the affected area

Depending on your assessment, you may be advised to utilize other treatment specialists such as a massage therapist, osteopath, naturopath, etc. I have an extensive referral list of professional practitioners who I consider to be experts within their field of practice.
